Thousands of individuals in need of representation are held at immigration detention facilities across the nation. This training primarily focuses upon a critical step in the immigration process - the bond hearing. We seek to train lawyers, law students and others to adequately represent detainees through the bond hearings and to secure their release. Get MCLE credit, learn the law, and find out how you can make a difference by bringing greater access to justice for immigrants detained in your communities.

Substantive legal training on bond hearings will take place from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at the AILA National Office building. The afternoon session will be a mock bond hearing at the Arlington Immigration Court led by IJs Paul Schmidt and Wayne Iskra.

Speakers will include:

Liz McGrail, Legal Director, CAIR Coalition

Jackie Bliss Kammerman, Montagut & Sobral P.C.
